This event was held to introduce the “Adopt Your Allergies” (Adopta Tus Alergias) campaign which aims to encourage people to adopt cats who have been sterilized. This aims to ensure that people who suffer from allergies can still realize their dream of owning a cat. This press conference was attended by around 30 adorable cats and it is open to the public.

Due to this event, Sanofi collaborated with the Adopta No Compres (Adopt, Don’t Buy) Foundation, an animal rescue organization with a base in Bogota whose mission is to find abandoned and abused dogs and cats new homes. They introduced their new open public space “House of Adoption of Impossible Loves.”

This campaign was held based on the idea of motivated self-care. It combines Sanofi's social responsibility with a positive effect on people's lives and their pet's lives. Several important scientific discoveries support the campaign as well. They stated that cats' sebaceous glands and skin create the Fel d1 protein, which humans are allergic to and which cats then groom into their fur and dust. It has been demonstrated that sterilizing cats reduces their allergen production by 90%.

With more than 300 adoption requests at the end of the event, this event was considered successful. Sanofi used the press conference as an opportunity to reveal a new medicine that reduces allergic reactions among humans to cats.

The fact is that in Colombia, cats are the most popular pets after dogs. Although precise numbers are hard to come by, it is estimated that about half of Colombian families have pets. Along with that, the purpose of the "Adopt, Don't Buy" foundation is to give abandoned animals priority when adopting a pet knowing how quickly the market for pets has grown.
