Ahead of Eid Holidays, Cat Care Services in Solo are Flooded with Orders

Cat care in Solo is popular with bookings well in advance of Eid al-Fitr because residents return to their hometowns.

The trend of keeping cats in the city of Solo has indeed increased in recent years. This increase began in 2021 during the COVID-19 pandemic. The trend of people who are keeping cats can be seen from the increase in open adoption which is now widespread.

"If there is an increase in fasting for Eid, people are open to adopting for the reason of going home," said a cat observer from the Meong Solo Home for Disabled Foundation, Ning Hening Yulia, Friday (5/4/2024).

But apart from that, many people also choose to entrust their cats during the Eid homecoming. This opens up a new business opportunity, namely cat sitting services. This service can be in the form of a cat hotel or individual paint.

One of them is the pet care business as used by the owner of the cat hotel Fur Seasons Pet Hotel & Daycare which is located on Veteran Street, Serengan Village, Serengan District, Solo City. Grace, the owner of a cat hotel, explained that the Eid holiday was a blessing for her business because there was an increase in customers entrusting their pets.

"During the Eid holidays, there is an increase. Most people go out of town so they leave their cats here," said Grace when met at her place of business.

Grace further explained that most cat owners book a cat hotel room well in advance. Not only that, most of the cat hotel bookings are for one week starting from D-2 to H+2 of Eid.

"During D-2 to D+2 of Eid, we are now full. We have full bookings here until April 13," she continued.

There is something special about Grace's pet hotel that attracts customers because of the many business competitors.

"We also provide a Play Group room for cats to play and don't put each cat together if the cats have different owners. There's a fear that they could fight or those who haven't been sterilized could get pregnant," she continued.

For the price range for cat care, Grace said that she provides two types of rooms with a range of IDR 60.000 and IDR 85.000 per day.
